Anyone know the story behind this 924 turbo wagon?
Sorry if this is a re-post but it's the first I've seen of it. A friend sent this link to a classified ad in Belgium, amazing custom creation if it's not in fact a factory car(?) :cool:
Porsche 924 TURBO DP CARGO - KOMBI - OLDTIMER , 9/1981, 25.000*km, 177 HP, fuel: petrol, manual gearbox, light alloys. Autofrom.net http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1305480037.jpg |
Saw that someplace too. Looks cool - shades of the old P1800 wagon.

That may have been the pic (top one) I saw. I think the one Denis posted is shot at a much better angle.

As seen on BAT last month

Yep, that's the one. (From BaT). I did not see it there, however and therefore missed the part about DP building them.
A curiousity for the most part but not bad looking, IMO. |
From memory, they avoided a bunch of taxes because they were re-classed as commercial vehicles.

There's a blurb about the 944 Cargo in the 02/11 issue of Top Gear;
"It's a 944 with the highly modified roof from a VW Passat. Produced in the Eighties by DP Motorsport, fewer than 20 were ever produced." |
