Wierd. Drum-pad with a disk-disk?

For the disk-disk, I'd assume there is some kind of 12V actuator which moves the inner friction surface out, with some kind of spring retraction.
That looks to be working.

For the drum-pad, mabye check the continuity in the solinoid, and in the feeder wires from the vehicle connector first.
Any mfr info or numbers on the thing?
Check manual operation of the pads and see if they are frozen.

The trailer manufacturer or a tractor parts shop is where I'd look first.

You could replace the parts with something like this
Trailer Brake Drum and Hub Assemblies by Dexter, UFP, Titan, Kodiak
If you want to stay original call the guys on that web site and they might be able to help you out.

Same style as what was on my Spartan Royal Mansion. Big round magnet that rides on a round, axial-floating plate in the drum. When the magnet energizes, the increase in friction with the plate in the drum causes the big magnet to rotate slightly, pushing the leading edge of the one big shoe into the drum.

I looked mine over for some kind of name, or model numbers. If there were any, it's been rusted over now. Everything is obsolete now anyway, so I'm converting mine to Dexter 12"x2" 7000lb brake assemblies, and making new steel plates to put in the drums for the magnets to ride upon.

I heard that these brakes modulate like a light switch.

The drums can be separated from the hubs on mine. The lug studs are swedged in place, so they're hard to get out, but replacement studs are easy to find, and easy to hammer in.

If yours is a light trailer, just remove it all and find the bearings and seals to fit a pair of Porsche hubs. Then, slam it on earlies.

That brake system was made by Warner. Pretty hard to find parts for that vintage.

Then I guess I'll just button it up.....is there a bolt on, brakeless hub I can use in its place place? Losing the brake system and drum would save some weight.

The backing plate off the axle is five lug, not the standard four.

That looks like a standard bolt pattern for 12"x2" brakes on a 6000lb axle.

I bet you that the drums could be removed from the hubs, sort of like the old drum brakes on the front of post-war/mid-century American cars.

If not, find a machinist to cut the drums off. Then, leave the backing plates off. and ride on the stock hubs, and wheels.
