+1...Iced up. Try to increase air flow by openjng vents and replacing the filter.

heat pumps have a component called reversing valve. depending on the manufacture, it energizes in heat or cool. if the reversing valve was to fail, the condenser would run in heat, regardless of the t-stat setting. the reversing valve is operated with low voltage and pressure. compressed freon. have the tech check the controls related to the reversing valve and the defrost process. reversing valves are a ***** to change out. depending on the system tonnage rating, freon capacity, arizona cost for repair would be $500 to $1000.
