Vacation Condo - how to rent it out?

We own a condo timeshare in Myrtle Beach SC. This year, we won't be using it due to both kids being in college and working over the summer. I've run an ad on Craigslist with few responses (and some spam.)

I've looked elsewhere and have found several on-line vacation rental sites that accept advertisements for fees ($99 and up.) Does anyone have experience with one in particular or other suggestions to me to pursue?

I always use vrbo.com when I want to rent a place....You check there?

Works well for me.

Find a property management company, don't try to do it by yourself. You give them your range of dates and they will find a renter for you, accept payment, deposits, etc. No brainer for you.

OK - I'll take a closer look at vrbo.com. It did show up on my search and I took a lot, but came here for possible recommendations. (EDIT: vrbo.com - yikes! - $299 for the listing. This is a one time listing for one week only - it's not being rented throughout the year - which seems that's what they cater to. I'll pursue finding a prop mgmt company.)

Details for those if interested - it's the week of 6/18-6/25. 2BR 2BA, sleeps 6 - Pelican's can attempt to negotiate a lower price (with the wife - HA!). Here's the CL ad for more info and pics:

What other Craigslists do you gave it on besides Atlanta? It's got to be a hike from Atlanta when Destin is 5 hours away.

What about listing in Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Columbia SC, etc.?

Good suggestion! Wasn't obvious to me to list it elsewhere actually.

I've tried to list it again, but it appears CL prevents multiple/duplicate ads. I'll have to search for an alternative or work-around.

I have the same problem when listing, but it seems some people post the same thing mutiple times some how.

Maybe wait a day for each?

In order to make multiple similar CL posts, looks like you have to use a unique email address and even possibly phone number to confirm each new email address. I got another ad posted for Raleigh NC and for Columbus OH.

The unit you have is in a place that has a website. Can you not use them to rent it out? I don't know what they would charge you off the top but worth a try.

The company "owners" actually do not allow renting of units. We are looking for someone to be our "guest"

Craigslist has not been very helpful. Other than the "english Gentleman" that wanted to pay in advance as he and his spouse would be arriving directly to Myrtle Beach on their vacation

That's the place - 2Br, 2 Bath, Tower 2 - 10th floor - ocean view, but not ocean front (unfortunately)

looking at the second picture on that site, which tower is it in and which way does the room face? (the picture that shows the view from the beach looking back at the three towers)

and most importanatly, does it have good WiFi or LAN?
