i almost rode over a rattlesnake yesterday.
do you think a young snake can puncture a bike tire? this was at the end of my grinding climb yesterday. i had my head down, and i was doing what i can to get up this hill at a sensible pace. i missed it by 6 inches. i got off my bike, hiked back down to snap a pic with my phone. sorry for the lame pic, but this was as close as i dared. i looked from above, and it had the distinctive rattler shaped head.
i see them all the time. i need to look ahead and make sure my path is clear from now on. it was sunning on the asphalt. pretty cool little snake. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1306343171.jpg |
My wife & I saw a rattler crossing the bike trails last weekend - about a 3 footer. Good thing we were moving pretty quickly... On the American River Bike Trail in Sacramento...

Usually you see skid marks in front of dead snakes.....not so with Lawyers.
