I thought it was a Brutale. Have to take a closer look. The ad makes no sense at all and sucks.

It makes no sense, but it doesn't exactly suck. :D:D:D

island911 05-26-2011 11:10 AM

So... the Visa Black is for those pretty people who can't afford a rental property with a helo pad or boat dock?

What if she just faked it for ya?

I disagree, the ad sucks. It got my attention along with many others. An ad's purpose it to get your attention so you will buy the product. You put a great song, a beautiful woman, and a few big boy toys and you have got an ad that does its job. Are you telling me you didn't watch the ad, curious of what it was an ad for?

island911 05-26-2011 11:27 AM

Well, I did have to go back to see WTH th ad was for. ..OTOH, when it gets replayed for free online, the ad can be seen as effective. ;)

I'd rather have an American Express black, or moreover the wherewithal to obtain one of them....

Agree, If I want to look at porn I'll go on the internet. I'll take funny commercials over "sexy" commercials any day but then most commercials suck so oh well. Besides I really don't find her blisteringly hot.

flatbutt 05-26-2011 01:02 PM

wotta bunch of liars. then again I'm short, bald and gimpy so I'm not real picky.

Cdnone1 05-26-2011 02:30 PM

You may think the commercial sucked but it is certainly successful from the clients point of view. It is on a BBS where over 700 people have looked at it and over 25 are discussing it. Not only that but it is Porsche BBS with exactly the type of demographics Visa Black is looking for.
The only bad press is no press

If she came with the card, then the $495 annual fee is just a drop in the bucket...

Just sayin'

Girl like that is not getting out of bed for $495 let alone in one

I've had a Citi Black card for 7 or 8 years now. No fees, no limit and a reasonable rate.
They put a limit of $80K on it about 2 years ago and them took it off late last year.
I don't remember how I got it but it's pretty cool.
I once put a $75K deposit on a house with it. Transferred the full amount from another account to avoid interest but the 25 day float was cool.

I dig the Barcelona Pavilion chair she's sitting on in the beginning of the ad, while she's doing her nails. I've wanted one for about 10 years, though in black. And as a Ducatisti, I dig the Monster.

The Barcelona was nice; I was just surprised it wasn't black...

Grabbed a Wassily "B3" on the day the world was ending for $10(!)

Black cards are a huge aphrodisiac in many parts of the world. If you want waitresses and shop girls to follow you home—you'll want one of these.

That is what you get for your $495. I have a friend who claims this is a bargain....

Noice! I grew up with neighbors that had a pair of Wassilys. As a kid, I just thought they were the uncomfortable looking leather strappy things. Like you'd fall right through them if you weren't big enough.

Blueprint over by the Beverly Center sells knock-offs of that sort of stuff, but the quality is terrible IMO.

Rick Lee 05-28-2011 01:59 AM

Most of the time I use a credit card, it's for online transactions with faceless computers. Not sure how a black, sapphire or platinum version of any card is gonna make a difference there.

EarlyPorsche 05-28-2011 05:27 AM

Does my cardholders agreement bar me from rustoleuming my jc penny card?

Lots of knock-offs. My $10 one is nice, except one 'side' strap is torn. You can buy Wassily straps, however. It's not an uncomfortable chair, as it turns out...

Back on the topic: I designed a couple credit cards for my client back in the day. Since I also designed their catalog, I used cover shots and cover shot candidates. Cards never got me the attention of Ducati-riding mystery women, though.
