Great gift from a fellow Pelican!
Paul (seahawk) just sent me a "US Navy care package" and my wife sent me these photos of the goodies as I'm out of town until Friday. I was whining about not getting a Fleet Marine Force device when I was in the USN, since we were issued ribbons for this award, and the badge was created and issued in 2006 and after. Paul sent me a care package with a bunch of cool Navy "geedunk" in it and I'm very happy to receive it!
It's folks like Paul and David (Targa911s), Tab Tanner, Milt, George (kach22i), Bill (wcc), Wayne (Oh Haha), Tobra, Fred Cook, etc... that make this place very special to me. What a great bunch of people we have here! Thank you all!! Cool stuff (shirt for our daughter) ![]() My Fleet Marine Force badge! ![]() I feel like a kid at Christmas!

Awesome!I have been trying to get into Navy OCS since October of 2009. My first board was in November of last year with a non-select in Naval Intelligence. Now I am trying for Supply, Purchasing, and Logistics, which is a better match for my degree. In addition, I secured some more LOR's. My board was supposed to be on February 25th, but they pushed the date eight days forward because of the number of applicants I presume. Now after the budget problems the boards have been canceled indefinitely because they lack quota numbers. We are hoping for another board in May... The worst-case scenario is for a board date around September of this year. As a prospective Navy man, I thank you for your service.

FMF badge and a belt buckle. Mr Puff, thank you, I hope you get a chance to become a Naval officer, they only take the best and you'll make it! some of the current and former Navy officers on the board here may be able to help you out. I was a lowly enlisted puke (E6), but i got my college degree while I was on active duty (9 years) and they offered me a commission as a USN Medical Service Corps officer, but I decided to become a civilian... Best of luck to you!

Art, Good...glad you got that. I guess I skimmed over the previous post where you mentioned this and was a bit confused as to why you didn't get the badge. I recently went to one of the online military medal sites and got some that were issued to me but that I lost.
Wear that proudly. If you want another or so you can find all that stuff online.

I can attest that Paul is one of the most stand up guys I have ever dealt with. I don't know why I use that term, "stand up." I guess because it covers lots of adjectives and is a lazy man's term.
Very cool gift. |

Some cool shizz there! Kinda jealous being a Navy man myself. But very SWEET! Thanks for the shout out and right back at 'cha! This is a great place and I'll never leave. I've met a ton of GREAT people here, even if we don't see eye to eye. We all have some sort of common thread here, cars, women, drinks, spoons, lawn equip, remodeling, etc. LOL

Cool!!
I'm proud to call you a friend Art. Although I never served, I still get a sense of the brotherhood of those that have. Thank you.
