Posey vs Cousins collision at Home Plate

So....what's the opinion? Pete Rose eneded a guys career in the an ALL Star game.

This guy gets hurt....now wants a rule change.

Should he give up his Man Card or what?

I played baseball from the age of 10 until I turned 45. High school, college, semipro, adult leagues and in all the time I played i only saw 3 real bad collisions.
The play Posey was injured on was a clean play, cousins chose to jar the ball loose and when BP did not come up with the ball he was left vulnerable.
His call for a rules change is valid, because that play is the one play in baseball that someone could be seriously injured.
There are other players who have had their career cut short, but you don't hear about it because they weren't stars.
Look at the hit Prince Fielder put on a Giants catcher named Todd Greene. Ended his career,on a play that was totally unnecessary, Flielder went out of his way to blast Greene.
Guy card revocation? Nah
He is just sayin that MLB should take a look at this type of play.
GO GIANTS

that is not the one play where someone could get hurt, breaking up a double play or diving for a catch. Jose Canseco had a fly ball bounce off his melon and over he fence, but that probably was more embarassing than serious injury. Why, as a lad, I drilled a ball off a pitcher's thigh that left a mark for two weeks, that would have probably fractured his skull if it was a few feet higher.

We had to sew up Dave when he took a softball off the chin playing third when we had our team in Podiatry school. We went back to the game, ump said he could not go back in, but he was ready.

He'd have a firmer grip on his man card if he'd started the crusade prior to the collision. There's a simple solution, don't block the plate. There's no rule that says a catcher must block the plate, play it like a second baseman has to, and the runner can't crash you. When you block the plate, you set yourself up.
