well after yesterdays 3rd cleaning of the barrel w/jb's bore paste, and tearing apart the buffer assy and replacing buffer with one i had from my p9s .45(they are the same part #), its ready. now my problem.................the entire forest is CLOSED to any shooting(fire danger) and the range is closed today. i could go to scottsdale gun club, but thats a drive for me. so i am going to have to wait awhile. right now i have some remington 115's, some golden sabres in 147, and somewheres some other flavor in 124's. probably today in my wonderings i will root around for some 9mm match if i can find any just for giggles. as i do with anything new, i'll grab my punch and brass hammer set and just bench it at 5 yds at 1st. then we can see if any changes are needed. and then proceed to blast (3) flavors and see what comes up as far as groupings. and then march it out to 25yds and see what happens. then go for the big rocks at the 100 yd dirt berm for giggles. remember elmer keith was shooting at 117yds at deer with a 4" barrel .44 mag! hahahahahaha if you note on german artillary LUGERS, the wwi rear sight, you will notice these were set up for 200 meter shots with a 9mm. yes i am chomping at the bit to go blast this one, but i wanna wait also for my order from numrich and hk parts, keep shooting.com to come in before i go to range. numrich has mags for $39.95, keep shooting has mags for $24.95. remains to be seen what works well. keep shooting.com's mags have had good reviews. gonna order a couple from each for drill and see if i can scrounge any real "HK mags" next few spoon shows. and yep my bad sheesh! the VP70z was the first plastic production pistole NOT the p9s. just read an article that stated the p9s production only went until 1978. not sure on that or if production lasted longer. |
