Dumbest of the dumb, New Durango ad
Well, I don't know about you guys but, every time I see / hear the Durango TV ad I've just have to say WTF??... The Durango's been off in Europe getting a Master's degree?? Driving the European roads?? Lifting weights????.........what a line of stupid BS.
I tell you what, That is the stupidest ad ever. Steve 73 911 T MFI Coupe, Aubergine |
Whats stupid about it? Everybody knows the roads in Europe are far superior, so the new model must be better since it was refined over there..

Another gem from the Chrysler marketing dept.

That really takes the biscuit... |

I want a luxury car. I'm buying a Chrysler 300. |

I thought it was pretty catchy, like importing cars from Detroit.
|
Those are both really, really bad commercials, especially the 300. I haven't driven the 2011s, but I've driven plenty of the previous generations. The Durango is fine, but the 300 is a huge disappointment, IMO. Chrysler could learn a lot about how to do a luxury interior from _____ (fill in the blank with any European manufacturer here).

Does anyone have a link to the Durango ad?
|
You guys watch commercials?

You're talking about it online, the ad guys earned their money.

It won't sell any cars however.
Since they paid off the loans and are not under government control maybe things will change now. 8 year bonds paying 8% hmmmm I wonder what they are rated? |
I kind of like it myself. Now what was REALLY dumb was the G6 commercial. "The FIRST EVER G6". How'd that work out for Pontiac???

Yes, we're talking about it. However, won't be buying it.

I'll give the add credit, I never knew that Durango was gone for two years. Beyond that it probably makes me want to buy one less, not that I ever wanted one in the first place.
|
IMO, no dumber than Porsche portraying the GT3 as a grocery getter...
|
Its now a unibody suv as opposed to the old body on truck frame....thus, more refined. I saw a bunch of them last week as part of the orlando rental fleet. It looks nice, but hardly like it used to. I also didn't see a place to put the tow hitch without cutting the bumpers up. Odd.
|
I think "it" got "it's" "Masters" degree from one of those on-line programs.....and pumped "iron" with Arnold.

I detest Chrysler products for the most part. Mopar hater to the core.
But I was at Deception Pass State Park here in WA today, and I saw a new Durango on the road. Its tough looking machine. |

It's great. It cost less than comparable cars in the class. It gets better gas mileage (around 22 combined - up to 25/26 on the highway) It rides better than any other in the class that I drove. The interior is much nicer than others in the price range. With some of the savings - I did buy the extended warranty. |
In all it's glory.
