I don't know what happened after the 70's but the 80's to today have lost style.

I know what happened after the 70's!

computational ability vastly increased and finite element models were applied to fluid flow problems -- one big reason "they all look the same" now

the ugly headlight eyebrow fad is another thing entirely -- just carry a tire iron with you and "make the world beautiful again..."
