+1 on these. I have a pair I've been wearing for a couple of months. We call them my "goofy shoes" because, well, let's face it, they look a bit goofy even in the conservative black. But you literally forget you have shoes on. I use them for every day wear, yoga, and running. Toss 'em in the washing machine once a week. Steve bought a pair and loves them. My aunt and mother are buying respective pairs today.

Not great driving shoes, they feel real weird on the pedals but otherwise, probably the best shoes I've ever owned. Except for my 4" purple suede pumps of course. ;)

+2 on these, I just got a pair and love them. It does take a little while to break them in, but they are very comfortable. Otherwise I have been using Puma driving shoes for everything else. The Drift Cats have a very good feel and give the barefoot style walk/run without looking so goofy.

Say this three times fast. Salomon XA PRO 3D Ultra 2

I'm a big ASICS fan because they typically fit my narrow with high arch feet well. I'm currently dealing with Plantar Fasciitis and was looking for a cusioned shoe with more support through the rearfoot and arch. These feel almost hiking boot stable from heel to arch. The sole is basically flat and the one thing that imediately stood out is the narrowness of the front of the shoe. They look downright pointy compared to my ASICS. The outsole does not flare out wider than the body of the shoe. These shoes run narrow. I typically wear an 11.5M in dress shoes and 12B in cowboy boots(if it matters). I had to move to the M+ model which is how Salomon designates wide shoes. I just picked these up so I can't comment on long term reliability, but they get good reviews.

Here's a link to the wide model.

You may want to look into something like an Adidas Samba. It is an indoor soccer shoe. The sole is very small (both height and width). It gives great lateral support, but I would not want to run long distances in it.

Ended up with Stan Smiths. Used to wear these 40 years ago.

I didn't want white necessarily, but one can't seem to have everything.
