Good resistive touch screens
 

Been replacing our 3M MicroTouch (discontinued) ones as they die now and then and so far we've been using Planar and frankly I'm less than thrilled with that choice not fully my decision but if I find a viable alternative we'll go with that.

The software is just nowhere near as simple as the 3M software was now that they've released the newer models though they come with better software but it's not backwards compatible which is pretty frustrating since both older and newer versions of the monitors look exactly the same...

Anyway what's really frustrating is we had a new (about 3 months old) PT1510Mx go out recently (upper left third of the screen was tinted red) rma'd it and the replacement had a 3/4" cut in the screen and would not calibrate :mad: rma'd that one hopefully the replacement will work. /rant over

Anyway, anyone have any experiances with touchscreens, ease of use, reliability etc. Must be resistive.

We've had ELO touchscreens in use since 2004; airline environment, constant use. Replaced a few but the greatest majority are still in use. Not sure if they're resistive but I would think so.

I can't help, other than to give a bump, and say; resistive touch screens rock. Why banks use cap-touch (ATM's) screens is beyond me. ..really sucks in winter cold and the gloves have to come off just to push a button.

ELO came up in my brief google search, I'll look into them. Yeah this is in an industrial environment in use most of the time, gloves/styluses(aka anything they feel like using to poke the screen with...) are used.

Supposedly capacitive last longer that resistive and are more accurate although since you can't use a pointing device a resistive with a stylus or a finger nail would be more accurate than your big sausage finger.
