1970 911T on BaT in New Mexico

Seems like a good deal to me (I'm not in the market) and one comment about not hearing back after offering over asking makes me wonder. Thought you might find it interesting, perhaps a great deal...

1970 Porsche 911T 92,000 miles

There are people in Europe who do nothing but web-search for early 911s, 24/7/365. There are also people in the U.S. who do the same, in order to sell them to the Europeans for a quick profit. This car would have been gone in 60 seconds @ $15k, much less $10k.

I agree with Denis. Still, worth a look if the car is close to you, and you really want a collectable car.

Collectables are a funny market...as far as the early 911 is concerned, I think the prices have exceeded the driving pleasure gained.

But to each his own.

The poor guy probably got about 400 emails on this car. I have no doubt that the ad, and the car, are legit. He bought the car in the 1980s and hasn't been paying any attention to the crazy run-up in early 911 prices so he priced it @ *10 years ago* value. This happens once in a while and sometimes can result in a bargain but usually does not because the guy gets 100 emails or calls the first day and realizes that he fked-up.

It actually happened to me as a seller once with a 1970 Chevy Malibu 2-door hardtop I had in the early '90s. I put it in the local recycler for some price and my phone started ringing off the hook. I had an acquaintance badgering the hell out of me for it so I sold it to him for more than my ad price but less than others were offering me on the phone. HUGE PIA when that happens, believe me...
