				B3/Leslie

Had the privilege of hearing a Hammond B3/Leslie speaker system at work this evening. This was my second time. I will never forget my first. With all the sophistication of modern electronics, i don't think it is possible to record the amazing feel the Hammond/Leslie can produce when you are sitting in front of it. You just have to be there when it happens. Add a harpist, a great singer, and a bass, and - well, I thought maybe the rapture was finally upon us tonight.

Oh yeah...I sat in front of Jimmy Smith playing a while back, just nothing like it. He's in my daily ipod rotation.

A few years ago we heard Jimmy Smith at the Nashville NAMM show playing a new Hammond B3 with Leslie system. It was incredible!
