Any experience out there?
As I see it going directly to GS1 has recurring costs, where as others sell codes outright. I can do the math (GS1 looking cheaper) but was wondering if GS1 has a high hassle factor --considering they want to know revenue #'s and such. ?

There are companies that just sell you a barcode that will be unique to you and you don't have to go buying 600 or so at once. Problem is that some retailers take only a particular barcode (Walmart being one of them) so you can't just buy a barcode based on price.

I use GS1 and they have never asked for any revenue numbers.
Initial cost is high, yearly renewals are relatively inexpensive. |
