Shrimp on the grill?

I want to put together a nice 24th anniversary dinner for the wife on Monday the 20th and try shrimp on the grill. I would normally just toss together some butter, old bay and other odds and ends. Anyone got some ideas for grilled shrimp?

brine them for about 20 minutes. pepper them. i put them on skewers so i can move them around easier. grill them fast and hot. dont over cook them.

then serve them with some melted herb butter. if you are adventurous, grill them in their shells and serve them "peel and eat". they taste way better, but the shells can be a PIA for some people.

I make a good marinade for shrimp. Olive oil, minced fresh garlic, crushed red pepper, and Old Bay seasoning. Mix the shrimp into the marinade to coat them completely. Let them sit and fester for about 15 minutes. Can't give you quantities, I do it by eye and taste.

As Vash said, skewer, and grill fast and hot...2 to 3 min. per side. Good luck on the dinner, and congrats on 24 yrs.

My favorite is to wrap each shrimp with bacon and a sliver of jalapeno pepper held together with a toothpick, then soak them in the fridge overnight in Italian dressing prior to grilling the next day. My mouth is watering just typing this.

If you can get Sal & Judy's BBQ Marinade, use that. If not, I use Worstershire, liquid smoke, lemon, garlic, fresh tyme. Marinate for about 1/2 hour. Then I skewer. I used to skewer them all close together, but now I do it spread out a little between each. Each way comes out a bit different.

Very important is to have nice, big and clean shrimp. Make sure to de-vein.
