wifi blu-ray player

Anybody have any experience - good/bad - with this technology? Seems like a good way to get movies (streamed from the internet). I see them for $200 or so (Samsung, Sony, etc) and since I have a wifi network...thanks

I love it, I stream Netflix over a panasonic bmp-bdt210. I just wish Netflix had more "latest releases".

Using a Samsung Blue-ray wifi enabled player. Works great with Netflix and Pandora. Had to update the firmware to use WEP/WPA encryption though.

I've had a few of em, but have switched to standard DVD players with Apple TV. Better performance and more features. Apple TV gives you your iTunes library and Netflix.

I just watched Robocop tonight with two of my kids. Streamed via Netflix to an Oppo BDP 93 (I think).

Worked pretty well. Quality is not as good as a blu-ray but certainly not horrible.

I wish they had less movies made by "The Asylum"

Got a screaming deal on a Best Buy "blowout" of a Blu Ray WiFi player. LG BD670. Didn't even know all the features when I bought it. The price ($154) was irresistible. Put it on my WiFi as soon as I realized it had that option. Good to have, but I do have an Apple TV and mostly use that.

If I did not have the Apple TV. I think the BD670 would give me about 80% of the capabilities. But I haven't explored it fully.

Our company was approached by vTuner to provide logos for all our web shows, so I know there are some new connected devices coming out this Fall that will have an improved selection of web "channels" rather than just going to YouTube on your TV and poking around. Looking forward to seeing how these new "convergence devices" work out.

I bought a cheap Magnovox before Christmas. It was $68.00 and is a wifi blu-ray player. It came with Netflix, Vudo, Blockbuster and Pandora.

It does everything I ask of it SLOWLY. There is ONE LED that is either off, green or red. It can take upwards of 30 seconds after hitting eject to get the drawer to open. It is frustrating because you do not know if it is doing anything.

I bought a higher end Panasonic. It does everything I ask it to do QUICKLY, tells me what is going on, and has access to more on line information. It costs about 3x what the Magnavox did.

At this point, the Magnovox is relagated to the gym and it stays on Netflix for access to their movies on demand. It is very good for this purpose.

I got a PS3 six months ago and we use it more for Netflix and Hulu than gaming. Very happy.

Bought a Samsung, 6500? I believe, last year on black Friday. $125 well spent they were retailing for more than $200. I probably watch more Netflix streaming than anything else. Once it was set up to communicate with my router it's been smooth sailing.
