Do you think this dog is spoiled?

This is our daughter Rebecca (the rower) and her trusty confidante Daisy.... Think Daisy is spoiled?

Daisy looks well loved!

And she looks a tad chubby, so yes, she's probably spoiled a bit....

From last week...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1308163089.jpg
Found a baby groundhog in the backyard...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1308163283.jpg

Daisy was gentle and was just sniffing the baby groundhog, but the baby did not appreciate the attention...

The next-door neighbor's dog killed the groundhog the other day and Daisy was not happy!

Daisy is right at 75lbs, which is where the Vet said she should be. We do not want her to get fat and then get all of the weight-related issues dogs can get. She eats her lamb and rice, with treats of carrots and ice cubes. She is a very happy dog!

Like I said, "Well Loved"

I've had a few lovely dogs before the kids. Now my boys aged 4 and 9 want to get a dog. I've been enjoying the clean house, the unscratched floors and the no poop backyard.

Am I cruel old fart?

Should i get another dog?

Maybe I'm being too selfish to deny the boys some puppy love

We got our Daisy for our daughter about 3 1/2 years ago and now we can't even imagine what we did before we had a Golden Retriever in the family! Kids and dogs just go together... as long as the kids understand the responsibility and help take care of the dog. Becky cleans up the yard, grooms and bathes her once a week and walks her regularly.

They can never be spoiled enough:

Widgeon13,
Daisy would fit right in with your two beautiful dogs! I believe the world would be a more peaceful place if everyone had a dog like ours.... I can't believe how much Daisy makes us laugh and smile, these dogs are very special!

Tom,
Yes, another great dog! We were looking for a Golden or a Labrador Retriever when we found Daisy at a local breeder. Great dogs!!!

Just took these...

Daisy found another baby groundhog...

The neighbor's Poodle/Golden mix kills every animal it can, but Daisy is very friendly and never hurts anything. She sniffs and seems to enjoy the wildlife. She does chase birds, though...

We have a golden (Widgeon) and our son has a choc lab (Remington). The GS in the pic belongs to a friend of ours, Widgeon was at their house on a sleep over. We love them all and they all have such great character and personality.

Here is Remington with his new sister (our grand daughter); he's a fantastic protector, not aggressive just there and very attentive when other people are around. He always has an eye on his sister.

I was exactly like you - had dogs all my life until right before I met my wife. Then I didn't get another - I wanted one but wasn't ready to commit. She wanted one though she had never really had a dog.

My boys, 2 and 6 needed a dog. I needed a dog - just didn't realize how much until we rescued one last summer. She's about the same size and build as daisy. She's been a great addition to the family, a great dog and I can't believe I didn't do it sooner.

Here she is just a moment ago...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1308191711.jpg

Beautiful.

This is our rescue pup, Angel. Less than 40 pounds but pretty muscular.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1308196571.jpg

And our slightly more spoiled gift/rescue from my sister-in-law. He prefers to ride in style to walking. It's hard to rollerblade and take pics at the same time.
