24" LCD Monitors for graphics....suggestions?

My old Samsung LCD is beginning to give up the ghost; it’s decided to randomly shut down and lately I’ve been having difficulty with color calibration... so I think it’s time to upgrade to a newer generation 24” LCD. I was prepared to go with the Dell U2410 after some initial positive feedback but after searching around a little more, this monitor seems to have problems with pinkish hues developing in the top corners. After browsing some photography and graphic design boards (their monitor requirements are closely aligned with my needs), the NEC LCD2490WUXi2 seems to be getting a lot of favorable reviews. A Wacom Cintiq would be my great, but I’m leaning towards the NEC.
I thought it might be worth posting for any additional feedback on these two models (or any alternates), since there seem to be a few creative/graphic professionals around here.
The monitor will be used for producing and editing architectural models and illustrations.

I love my Dell UltraSharpTM U2410 Monitor. I run three of them vertically and two 30"s horizontally.

Cool. So you've had no issues with the "pink tint" that many are experiencing?

Apple Cinema Displays are my personal go to choice.

Love my Cintiq for illustration but not crazy about it as a display.

Beautiful piece, but I didn't think they were compatible with PCs.

All my Dell IPS monitors are still crisp and clear without any color distortion.

Of course they are.

I also like the cabling.

Has USB and FireWire to plug into the back of your PC so you can plug peripherals into the back of the monitor.
