He said he would have let me drive it if I was clean, I offered to strip down naked, and wash my self in brake clean, but the did not like that idea. He is supposed to stop by in the am, for a little early morning spin.

575s are such pretty cars

speeder 06-17-2011 11:31 AM

Indeed.

pwd72s 06-17-2011 11:47 AM

Damn, That's pretty! Kind of like looking at a supermodel...I really enjoy the view, but know the problems hooked to possessing one. ;)

scottmandue 06-17-2011 11:49 AM

I'm off to buy lotto tickets ;)

fastfredracing 06-17-2011 11:55 AM

It's never worth it to just look at a supermodel. You need to get her up to operating temperature and then bounce off the rev-limiter until you're dizzy. Just like the Ferrari.

They are good looking in pictures, but I have a hard time liking them in person, they are just plain HUGE. Same with the Challenger, I loved it until I actually saw one. I like the 550/575 still, but not as much anymore.

I'd be willing to bet that Denis has hit the rev limiter on a number of local rides that would qualify...

UconnTim97 06-17-2011 12:47 PM

Are you currently hiring?

He is a real cool older gent that lives right down the road. He has 4 BMW's that I service for him, including a Z8. He started off looking to buy a 275 gtb , but decided that was insanity , and went for a more budget orientated Ferrari. I will probably get to inspect this car and change fluids yearly. He is due for a major. I think he is going to send this one out, but I bet I will get to turn some wrenches on this car over the next couple of years. I am old enough and wise enough to know not to get in over my head
Honestly looking at the motor, it appears as if a timing belt job, would not be much harder than a 928, or well set up 944 turbo.
I hung an exhaust on a 308 when I was about 22, and helped a couple of hacks butcher a starter job on the same car a couple of years later, but that is about the extent of my ferrari background.

More times than you, by about 3. :)

I hear the 575's are pretty nice cars and the maintenance and service isn't too bad. My very first Ferrari was a 400GT and if the 575 is as nice as that was then your friend has a great car. I liked the 400 so much that I am looking for a clean example right now.

Beautiful car.

Looks like the driver's seat is all the way forward or pretty close to it. Is it moved up because of getting something/somebody out of the back seat, or does the guy have short legs?

Is the owner the guy in the second photo wearing the blue shirt?

strupgolf 06-17-2011 06:31 PM

If I had a car like that, it would not be black.

Laneco 06-17-2011 09:45 PM

Oh my goodness, that wickedly sexy in black!
