Strollin' through the vineyards this evening
One of my neighbors has nearly 200 acres of vineyards directly across the street from our place.
I've lived here for 20 years and seen the vineyard grow, seasons change, harvest methods used, sprayed, crop dusted, but I've never walked the property. My wife and I have been walking the other property next door for some time now. I asked permission to walk and did for the first time tonight. We didn't go far, but we did see a neat little party area they built for the workers and employees of the winery. These vines are Chardonnay and were planted in 2006. http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120073.jpg http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120071.jpg http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120068.jpg http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120070.jpg http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120069.jpg party area has Bocci ball court, horse shoe pit, BBQ, fire place area, boat launch and lighting. http://i944.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/P1120072.jpg Our place is behind those trees across the street. You can just see my white enclosed trailer and red truck if you look carefully. KT |
We were told that if we walk to the top of the hill on a clear day we will be able to see the SF Bay Bridge.

You live in an insanely beautiful corner of the world Trekkor. Respect.

Thanks. I got up to about 95 degrees today.
We did see quite a few flying birds. Egret, heron, quail, doves, ducks and geese. I want to get a shot of the blue heron. Their wings are as bright as a blue jay's. KT |
