I'm way too agro in the morning

The rest of the day, I'm a spiritual giant. A regular buddha. But before I've had my morning caffeine, I'm a mass murderer. The problem is that I do not have my morning caffeine at home but rather at a coffee shop five minutes away by car.

It's been this way since I was a child, before I started drinking coffee actually. I've always woken-up in an extremely anti-social mood, gradually thawing as cereal and time were applied. I grew up in Minnesota, so the transition from a warm bed to a sub-zero school bus stop was enough to turn anyone into Hitler, if you ask me.

Here was the first 30 minutes of my day so far: turned left into traffic on a busy street from a side street, some punk in a Toyota PU is speeding and tailgates me instead of letting me in despite the fact that we have a red light 200 yards ahead. I brake-check him hard. I am a lot more likely to do this on my way to coffee but it's still possible in the rest of the day. Guaranteed in early am.

I get to the coffee shop and pull into an empty angle parking spot. A brand new MB S-class, (hybrid), pulls into spot on my left at same time, way too close to me. I'll barely be able to get out. I make a point of opening my door HARD into the side of his car while he's standing 10 feet away, fumbling with parking change. Twice, actually, since I'm gathering my backpack and phone from my truck seat. He actually apologizes for parking so close. Now I feel a little bad but he did box me in. The point is that I scare the schit out of people when I'm in evil mode, he looked over when he heard to door hitting his car and made a snap decision to defuse the situation. I'm not proud of this. Just the opposite. The guy in the Toyota PU looked at me through my rear window and decided to back WAY off rather than pull up next to me at the next light. One of these days I'm going to get shot over some petty traffic BS and I guarantee that it will be before 8 in the am.

Anyone else evil in the morning? And yes, I know I should do meditation and think about puppies and rainbows in the am, etc... It's hard to change my stripes at this point in the game.

You are very lucky that coffee works for you. I don't give people crap just in the morning.

I perform that service for them all day long.

As long as you don't pimp slap anyone, you're not that angry.

Lol...it's not like I turn into a doormat later on but I'm a hell of a lot more reasonable. I would maybe ask the guy to move his car first and if he gave me attitude, then I would open my door hard into his car.

Dont come near me in the morning. Especially if I didnt have my coffee and something to eat. Ive always been that way.

All kidding aside, since I stopped listeng to the news on the way to work in the morning, I have been a lot more socialble and less nasty, by time I get to work. Now I put on some music instead.

Guess music does sooth the savage beast.

You dented his car. If YOU had done that to my car I'd have ruined your day for sure.

i have actually matured. yesterday, at a two lane left turn, i was stuck next to a dodge mini car. the passenger was wearing a camo army surplus jacket and cheap mirrored shades. he looks at me, and dumps a bag of garbage out the window. i gave him a disapproving look and he eyeballs me HARD! he even takes off his seatbelt to mimic some form of readiness..he keeps staring at me..

and then it happens..

the driver, obviously his mommy starts screaming at him.."PUT YOUR SEATBELT BACK ON!!!" "TURN DOWN THE RADIO!!"" she flat out takes the opportunity to unload her motherly advice..trailer trash style..hahahhah.. it was classic. i mouthed out, to him..."your life sucks"..smile and drive off. a younger me would have gotten out, picked up the garbage and tossed it into his lap.

Porsche-o-phobia, are you arguing with yourself again? I think that's it's against forum rules to quote someone and change the words but I'm not sure...you would get bich-slapped in person at anytime of day from me.

You're probably right, and in all likelihood the shooter would get a light sentence, given your decision to publish detailed accounts of your propensity towards wanton property destruction, road rage, and assault.

I'd have gotten in his face and been a real arse (even more than usual) but I don't believe I'd have dented his car.

If you have a coffee-maker at home, you can have coffee before you leave the house, and then have MORE coffee at the coffeeshop.

That's what we do in Seattle.

That, and aspirin...

Dennis, you can buy a coffeee pot that has coffee waiting for you when you wake up for very little money. Why not invest in a coffee maker and save the world from a grouch?

Wow, sounds like some of you need to take a court mandated class and probably some meds too. Life's too short to be that angry. I've been in positions where I was pissed at how someone parked or acted or behaved, but I try to relax. Maybe they just got news that their mom/dad/etc... just passed, maybe they just got word that they are fired, going through a divorce, whatever. Maybe they were distracted. I try to be extremely aware of my surroundings at all times when I'm driving so I don't cut people off or park crappy or whatever, but you know what, every once in a while, something gets me distracted and I do something that I wouldn't normally do.

Wow, if I caved to every impulse/urge I have to retaliate because someone has done something stupid.....

So, you pulled out in front of someone that was moving much faster, and you didn't feel the need to accelerate because the light was red, you still pulled out in front of him. Could you have waited until he passed and pulled out behind him?

WTF. Take a pill.
