The great state of Pa revoked my sales tax license

I am not always on time with my remittance, but never more than a couple of weeks late, so I was surprised to see this letter.
Turns out, I missed one month back in September of 2005. I was made aware of this more than two years ago, the state called, me. We settled on an amount, and I sent them a check. Assumed I was done.
Here, there was a $10.50 interest charge on this amount. I have never received any sort of correspondence about this matter. Not one letter, not one phone call. So they just yanked my license. Friggen government for you. The guy that I am supposed to contact in the dept of revenue is on a two week vacation, so after an hour on the phone, I was able to finally resolve this issue . but it sucks, They put a lien on me for $10.50, and I guess, I make the local newspaper as well.
I wonder how much it cost them to go after a big offender like me.

In the future, try contacting your state representative.
Let him or her know the situation, they'll be glad to have as a staff member make a phone call on your behalf. that usually clears things up a whole lot faster and easier than you trying to fight city hall on your own.

So now you don't have to collect sales tax anymore for the state?

In PA do you get paid for collecting the tax? I'm in Ohio and we have to collect sales tax and income tax for the state, income tax for the village, income tax for the school district, and federal income and payroll taxes. We only get paid for collecting the sales tax (1% of collections). It's not much, but it's at least a recognition that I'm not a slave.

I got a speeding ticket as a PA resident in college, which I couldn't afford to pay at the time. It was $109. I made payments on it, but moved and lost the paperwork then, still owing $9. When I finally got a hold of someone in that township, they told me there was a warrant out for me over that $9. I mailed the check in that day.

Y'all have convinced me that California is the worst place on earth. Now tell me why so many of you still live there.
