Meet Domino the Border Collie and Skylar the ~ Aussie
I posted about my planned visit to a Border Collie rescue at link below:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/615484-anyone-else-have-border-collies.html After meeting these sweet little guys, I knew they were for me. Domino is about a year and a half and is a dark red and with about a million freckles. She had a knee repaired about 6 weeks ago and will need some stretching exercises for the next couple of months. She got to ride home with me and immediately made use of the headrest. She'll be a medium/high energy girl and need to be challenged. She was a turn in (don't know how people can do that) and knows basic commands and is very attached to her human and eager to please. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309023912.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309023936.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309023956.jpg Skylar is probably Aussie or Aussie/Border and is a red merle with THE most striking blue eyes. Estimate her at 2 - 3 yrs old. Shes a very sweet and gentle soul that will likely be calm for the breed. Just an incredibly beautiful girl! I'll get her in a week or 2 after she's spayed. So glad to have pups back in the house! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309024451.jpg |
Just gorgeous!!! And good on you for adopting two beauties into your home. You will both be richer for it.

Rescued this one six years ago...right up there with Earl, my departed Lab.
Cassie completely bonded with my wife, they are as thick as thieves. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309027044.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1309027081.jpg |
Beautiful animals! We had a BC years ago, high energy needed to be worked hard and she didn't like our city living, so Brandy went to live with my sister in the rural area outside Petaluma Ca where she could herd the cows and run to her little (big) hearts content. She was actually a BC/Chow cross. Amazing animal.
I have 2 rescue dogs now. Shepard/Husky mix and Lab/Blood hound mix, best animals I've ever had, loyal, willing to please, good with kids etc. It's almost like they knew where they were (at the pound) and what they were facing and were rescued. In actuality they rescued us, what a blessing they have been to both my family and my parents who occasionally watch them for me. (sorry no pics on this computer) Enjoy! and thanks for saving a couple more of man's best friends...SmileWavy |
The dogs are a real blessing and will add a lot to my life. If anyone is interested in a rescue BC, Debbie and Kim at Ruff Mutts really know their stuff. Really good people.

you da man! i can barely keep up with my ONE 11 year old adopted dog. at the dog park today, there was one man flat out showing up the crowd with 3 border collies..he would throw 3 frisbees and call out which dog (by name) to set off after them. he got it to look like he was juggling dogs. amazing. my genius dog pissed in the community water bowl :( duh! |
