Do Porsche owners have a "wave"?

Looks like Nissan has a contest going to start an official "wave" for the Leaf (I am not making this up).

Check out what Stephen Colbert has to say about it.

Video: Stephen Colbert takes swipe at Nissan Leaf 'wave' - Drive On: A conversation about the cars and trucks we drive - USATODAY.com

Maybe we should get ourselves a "wave".

I always wave unless its some trophy wife in her Cayenne. From 914 to GT3, its all P-car, and I wave.

headlight, of wave of the hand, anything as a sign of recognition will do over here.

Watercooled Porsches I don't salute, they never salute back anyway. They just look with a smug face and that's it. Over here people driving a watercooled P-car are not enthousiasts, they're posers, most of them anyway. (my apologies to the exeptions to the rule)

No it is the same here. In these parts Boxster owners don't usually even waive to other Boxsters.

Newer cars don't make that same connection with the driver, and the drivers rarely feel connected to other drivers with the same car.
I never wave to other VW Golf Mk V owners either...

I had a Boxter driver give me the flash over the weekend. It caught me off guard but I managed to give it back in time.

My experience (I drive a Boxster) has been almost all the P car drivers wave or flash headlights around here. But I'm in the country so we tend to be on two lane roads when we meet.

I'll wave to an old MG or other vintage sports car before even thinking about waving to a modern Porsche. We have a lot more in common with other old cars than some computer controlled marvel.
