"Just a cop car with an assault weapon sitting on the trunk."

What defines an assault weapon?

"Um... good thing it was a Slog tipper—good citizens, all—who happened by and not, you know, a sociopath or an anarchist or a gun collector."

Whoa, so they just throw gun collector in with the other two? Is an AR-15 really that valuable to a gun collector? I seem to think they are pretty accessible and not that expensive. There are far more accurate rifles out there with more firepower.

still....u'd be looking at swiping a $1000 gun. and unless u are caught doing something illegal with it, it's impossible to track down a stolen gun. i had one of my guns stolen at the range. reported it to the sheriff and he's like....there's about a million in one shot we'll ever find it.

Damn, I always miss the good swag.

That's not a good place to leave a gun, either... there are usually a lot of bums panhandling along that block.

It'd be a $1000 gun if one of us went out and bought one.

But it's a government issued weapon so it probably ended up costing the taxpayers more like $5000 with all the red tape, bureaucracy, and paperwork BS.

Never heard of em getting UNPAID suspension, on the news they always talk about the bad cop getting put on PAID administrative leave which is another way to say extended vacation.

Kinda makes all the good cops look bad.
Aren't unions wonderful?
