To hot tub or not to hot tub, that is the question

Hi,

Up here in the great white north we have a short summer and long cold winter.

We are doing a backyard lanscaping renovation.

Put in a hot-tub or not?

Do you use yours?

Consider an ozone treatment....chlorine can irritate the skin. Go gas heating. Electric heat is pricey.....

We have a hot tub on the deck of our house in rural Vermont, it get used year round...

Nothing like going in the whirlpool when it is -15F ;-)

it does cost a bit to keep it warm in the dead of winter though...

We went from a fancy 6+ person spa down to a simple two person oval spa. It is in our garage and gets used daily year round by both my wife and I. I personally would rather have it outside, but my wife likes it in the garage so that is where it stays (at least now with the smaller size we can park two cars in the garage). She has fibro and walking out in the snow to hop in just not work in her mind.

We have a 450 gallon Cal Spa. You want to get one setup for 220. With a 110 unit you cant run the heater and pump at the same time. most 110 units have a single speed pump also. We use it year round snow and all..............limit the drinking in it though. You get mashed real fast
Ask me how I know

We had a hot tub and loved it. We used it year'round, it was especially nice in the winter! Put it on a concrete pad and be sure it's level. Get a good cover and go to a boat canvas shop and get a canvas cover to go over the insulated top to prevent sun/weather damage. We had a CalSpa that I bought used and we used it for several years until it finally died. It lasted 17 years,

Use mine once or twice a week. I wish mine was smaller, it will hold ten easily, but its built in so I'm stuck with it.
