U2 360 Tour
Totally worth it, stage was unreal, and those boys really know how to put on a show! They rocked Denver!

I was the absolute worst seat in the house, 2nd from the tippy top in far endzone and it did not matter, no bad seats really.

I was thinking of the spy plane when I clicked on this. Guess I'm a little out of sync.

N-Gruppe doesn't exist
|
we will be going to my last U2 show in a couple of weeks.
they just aren't the same as when i first started going to their shows in the mid 80's too big of a production for my taste. these days if i want to go to a stadium show i want sports to be involved. red rocks was the best. unforgettable fire is my all time favorite. was at the Denver shows when they taped rattle and hum. that was really their last album i enjoyed. still have all their stuff but not what i listen to anymore.

Saw the opener in Barcelona and the fall closer in Rome (as well as a few in between) ![]() Always a good time and even tho it may not compare to the early days, the sense of spirituality I get from the music is still there. No other band seems to have the audience-uniting power that U2 does.

I dislike stadium shows. I'd rather be at some dive watching Loudness.

Saw them at the MGM Grand in Vegas a couple of years ago. We were about 5 feet from the ellipse, centre stage. When we were going into the arena, they scanned tickets to win the opportunity to be on the inside of the ellipse, which I won, but declined because there was 5 of us in the group, and they only allowed 2 with the winning ticket.
It's still one of the best live shows I've seen - they certainly know how to put on a show. Bono could curb his political diatribes, though and just stick to singing the tunes. |

strange thing about Bono.....he uses a TelePrompter for every word he speaks. All his lyrics, political comments, even his off-the-cuff comments. How do I know? Our seats at a previous concert were behind the stage and I could read his TelePrompter in the floor.
Makes me wonder who writes this stuff. Maybe he is just the puppet to someone else. I think he may have a very bad case of stage anxiety and he needs the TelePrompter to make sure he keeps it together.

I saw them last night in Miami. Very nice show. Could not spot the teleprompter though. Not an empty seat in the house...

I caught them recently here in the Bay Area, and one the first leg when they were at The Rose Bowl... both great shows. While stadium shows tend to be lacking on many levels, I will give them alot of credit as they actually managed to bring energy to the show as well as spectacle. I'd prefer seeing them in a smaller setting, but the reality is that bands that can sell 50-100k seats for a show are not going to often be in smaller venues.
I recall seeing the 90s version of Pink Floyd in a stadium a few times, once from the center of the second row. Actually seemed like seeing them in a small venue... however, they had such little energy that it was still really about everything else. Again, I can't express how much U2 managed to overcome this, even when I didn't have the advantage of being that close in either of the 360 shows. As for the teleprompter... have never noticed this, but have seen this with other artists (Peter Gabriel jumps to mind, and has noted many times what a problem he has remembering lyrics). Having heard a few 360 bootlegs though, it doesn't seem to be the exact same thing every night, so I would guess that he simply wants to make sure he's remembering the basics that he wants to when introducing songs (and to not be caught off guard and suddenly forget a lyric). >Free Gary Powers I think this is only with the purchase of one regularly priced Gary Powers ![]() |
