a Weber gas grill makes a great substitute for a kitchen oven.
i cannot turn on my oven. i would cook inside my tiny non AC home.
my MIL ordered ribs. i am cooking the pork ribs. i admit, i cannot grill them. i suck. i hoped to slow braise them, but my home oven was not coming on. i got my WEBER to 225ish, and put them in one of those restaurant trays..and braised them for 2 hours.. then i got my coals ready, soaked ALOT of apple branches from a friend's yard..and finished them over fire, for color. i reduced the braising liquid and it over the ribs. it is coming out..i hope. if they suck, i run to papa murphy.. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Next time, smoke them. I do it on my Weber all the time. Remove the membrane & use a rub on the ribs. Get a wood chip box & some chips. Soak the chips & place the box on the back burner. Front two burners off. Adjust temp to 250 (about 1/3 on). Smoke for about 3 hours - turning occasionally. Brush with oil & wrap it foil for the last hour or they might be too dry. Then . . . remove from heat & put them it a sealed paper bag for an hour.
Easy & very, very good. With the right rub, you might not need any sauce. I am actually cooking two racks right now . . . Ian

Gave up cooking with propane a few years ago. Have gone green egg. No regrets. I will say that cooking looks pretty good though!!!
