Cool Medevac Helicopter approach
 

At one of my hospital that I call on the Medevac helicopters have a really cool approach to the pads. They fly over the top of the purchasing building, center themselves on a focal point in the middle of the lawn, and hover across the street to one of the two pads. Two came in today one after the other and gracefully found their places. I have the utmost admiration for these pilots and the crew who operate them!

Watched as an EMS chopper came in pretty hot and launched a stretcher across a parking lot straight into my pickup 10 years ago. The EMT who was dim enough to be holding on to it at the edge of the pad simply looked up at me and held up his hands as if to say "oops, who knew a 2 ton, 1000HP flying ceiling fan could do that?" Pure genius.

Those sewer covers welded shut I hope?

Not sure if they are welded down or not...they just mowed the lawns and I got a mouth full of cut grass...I looked like a Chia Pet when I came back in the office.

A UM medivac went down last year, or so.
Great tragedy.

I hear them overhead once in a while. Sometimes they come in hot. Sometimes the engines don't sound too good.

Got a college buddy that does that for a living. We'll be talking - then all of a sudden - gotta go - snakebite... He's a good dude.
