David Allan Coe?
Any fans?
Got to see him last night (Ft. Laud). Dude is old :( and had to use a cane/walker to get to/from stage. My girlfriend (who had no clue who he was) said he was "cute" like her grandpa. But, the guy could still sing/cuss. Amazingly loud, too. His two sons were the guitarists. Funniest thing was seeing all the rednecks and good ole' boys (in full Confederate regalia) showing up for the concert driving Prius and assorted economy cars. It was the younger crowd that had the big pick-em-ups. http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/countygrind/DAC.jpg |
Have several of his albums. His voice seems to have waivered over the years according to my ears, which are not the best!
Good songwriter, angry man. |

angry is right......................................would not suggest checking out his "banned" work.............pretty rough stuff

There is a video called Heartworn Highway that has a good segment of David Allen Coe. Also Townes Van Zant, a young Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell and many others. It is a must see video. The music is excellent.

Pic from last night...you might notice the shot glass of Jack to his left, next to the water bottle. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/beerchug.gif

Yup, he's on my IPOD. always liked his stuff. Weird to see all my country heroes being replaced by their children.

Always liked DAC. I like that alot of his recordings show a good variety--not all just straight-up country.
some favorites: Willie, Waylon and Me Please come to Boston I Still sing the songs |
He'd probably love being called "cute."
