I had a new pad and rotor installed this week

After a couple of "incidents" like this I didn't want the next trip out of the back country to be via helicopter. So had the old hip updated to a newer version.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1310240886.jpg
Remember to always have your mechanic show you the parts he's replaced

My guy tells me I"m the first one in 20 years that's actually worn one of these modern ones out :D
Finally it's important that when the work is done that they close the hood and clean up

So in on Wed am, came home yesterday afternoon. I'm walking with a cane and off the meds.. I should be back on the bike in a couple of weeks!

azasadny 07-09-2011 12:04 PM

Very cool! Heal quickly!!

bell 07-09-2011 12:22 PM

ouch......how bad did it hurt when the old part failed? i don't even want to think about it lol
rest up......what's the new one look like?

9dreizig 07-09-2011 12:35 PM

Hurts like nothing you ever want to experience again... New one looks like the old one without the big groove worn out.. HOwever bigger ball so less prone to dislocation..

Zeke 07-09-2011 01:58 PM

Yikes.

A930Rocket 07-09-2011 08:30 PM

I'm in pain just looking at the pix...

legion 07-09-2011 08:37 PM

Um, you're high on morphine, right?

If not, that's even more amazing.

sc_rufctr 07-09-2011 08:46 PM

OUCH! Damn that looks painful. :(

But get better soon.

porsche4life 07-09-2011 10:32 PM

I don't wanna get old... I can already tell I have a lifetime of this stuff in my future...

Joe Bob 07-10-2011 01:38 AM

Get well soon.....if you need any help, let me know.

Legion, no I had surgery Wed am, went home Friday afternoon. Took my last pain med (perc) on Sat eve,, and then only one that day. Crazy nightmares!!! So I've got 49 of the 50 percs left hehe..
Feeling pretty good today I've traded the crutches in for a cain.. I'll be ready to race in the 24 hours of Lemons Aug 6th!

MBAtarga 07-10-2011 05:18 AM

Looks like the Dr followed the dotted line scar from the previous surgery.

pete3799 07-10-2011 05:26 AM

Hope you're good as new soon.

He was the one that installed the original upgrade !

Not trying to downplay 9's situation but folks who have experienced both will tell you that total hip surgery pain is markedly less than total knee surgery pain.

Good luck with your recovery and you're smart to avoid the (crazy expensive) ride in a giant ceiling fan.

9dreizig 07-10-2011 06:14 AM

Well since I"ve had both I consider myself an authority... Yes a hip is a walk in the park compared to a total knee.. Virtually no pain with a hip pain is with you a full year with the knee..

pavulon 07-10-2011 06:29 AM

there ya go!

yel911 07-10-2011 07:32 AM

Since all the mods, you must be a "track dog"!!!! No longer original....

dentist90 07-10-2011 09:47 AM

Nice that they still stock your parts... :D
