Heating and bending Azek (wood substitute)

Anyone know of a good way to heat a 1 x 1.5 piece of Azek? to curve it I am gonna need to heat it a little. 271 degrees is recommended so is an expensive pair of heating pads . i only need to bend two 10' sections so i don't need to buy a heating pad.
was thinking of putting it in apiece of 2" EMT and heating it with butane torch
then take it out and bend it on the form.
Any pro advice would be appreciated..
Thanks

jt

Build a wooden jig and clamp the piece to it. Heat it with a heat gun. No burning like a torch.

Sono tube for pouring concrete. Heat it with a heat gun or some kind of heater.

I have heated Azek and bent it a number of times, and I have heated individual sections of it by waving the heat gun over it. It likes to be heated really slowly and evenly, as it doesn't conduct heat well. It will blister if you over heat it, so making a box is the way to go unless you like waving the gun around.

How tight is the radius? 1x1.5" should be a piece of cake to bend with a heat gun.

If it is a tight radius bend 2 3/4 inch pieces around the form and glue them together with PVC glue.

Or if you buy it from a millwork yard they will bend it for you.

Or cut the curves from 4x8 (or 4x10?) sheet.

I've used a 'hot-dog' style construction site heater to bend PVC pipe on an inground sprinkler system where I needed a slight bend. I'd think that might work - how long a piece are you talking?

I need to make two arc's about 7 feet each using 1" x 2"

The sales guy also told me to put it in a Sono tube and heat the Sono tube.

Going to use it as a "rail" for a 9' sailing dingy.
Need and inner and outer arch..
Then its drilled and riveted and finally covered with "rub-rail."

The edge of the boat needs a complex bend with a curve AND a bevel. the top of the curve is longer than the bottom of the curve..
Imagine a funnel it bends in a circle but it also gets smaller that is the kind of bend I am doing.

Unconventional application, I know, but cheaper than using steam bent oak..

Cut a piece of plywood to the shape you need and cut the Azek pieces a little longer so the two ends can be screw to the plywood form. Heat it with a heat gun, let cool. A 7' rad. is eary. Watch for spring back. It will take some trial and error.
