Can't afford a Veyron? Build your own.

pretty impressive, but I never understand this sort of thing. I just don't get the looks without the performance. That would be like dating a girl that looked like a supermodel but had no nipples or other anatomically correct attributes.

U mean they come in kits as well, does that include the glue?

Zeke 07-16-2011 01:02 PM

Because he could.

The car or the girl? (although I wouldn't be interested in either one)

I wonder if his idea was inspired by "foamcar guy."

Would he toss in a fake Rolex as part of the deal?

kach22i 07-16-2011 05:19 PM

It's another Balloon Boy story folks, sorry. Sold as a kit on e-bay, the guy who makes it posted it long ago in the forum links below.

Horrible concept. The Veyron isnt special because of it's grill, headlights, and doors.

For some reason, that fake just looks tacky...

sketchers356 07-16-2011 06:43 PM

Looks tacky because it is fake.

Also the lines are just an approximation.

Noah930 07-16-2011 08:06 PM

Hmmm. Anyone got a spare Fiero?

Out of curiosity, who's gonna buy that? He's asking $89K. I'd imagine that most who can blow $89K on a car would rather have at least a nice new 911, Corvette or Nissan GT-R than a Mercury Cougar with a fancy bodykit. Those may not be as exotic, but at least they've got some degree of performance.

Why not go real radical if your gonna do it?

JavaBrewer 07-17-2011 11:14 AM

Kudos for the effort - but honestly if I had to choose I would drive the donor POS Mercury Cougar.

jcc911 07-17-2011 02:11 PM

I actually know a guy who did a similar thing but built a Countach in his basement! He had to excavate and tear down his wall to get it out. All hand built as well on an english wheel, but took him a lot longer.
Not sure I get it either but he was so meticulous about every little detail that I did not get why he didn't paint it a countach color. Either way, he did a really really nice job on it.
