Handed down my firts spoon today.
 

Passed it off to my 5 year old boy. I probably got this gun in 1978-1979. Not 100% sure if it is a red ryder model or not. I have probably put 20,000 bb's through this thing in its life. It has been missing for a couple of years, and I honestly forgot about it. Found it behind our broken refrigerator that I had to move last week.
Still shoots pretty good. My kid is completely into it. We set up some cans, and paper targets, and he does not want to put it down. Man, I took this thing everywhere with me as a little kid.
This will be a great opportunity to tech him about gun safety, and start a new father son hobby. I learned about gun safety when I shot myself point blank in the hand with this same gun about a week after I got it. I remember shooting at things trying to see what it would go through.... Definitely ricochets off a tire. Good thing it was winter and I had several layers on. Still left a hell of a welp though......

Great way to teach gun safety, responsibility, etc... to your son. He'll always remember this BB gun and the time you've spent with him, teaching him how to safely use it.
