water spots on car paint

Coworker had his car painted a couple of months ago.

Now he has water spots on it.

He's tried a clay bar, didn't work. I suggested vinegar and hot water w/ a soft cloth, didn't work.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

You sure they're water spots? Sounds odd. Water spots should wipe away with pretty much anything - damp cloth, wax, polish etc.

Try some CLR. Test first in an unseen area to make sure it doesn't harm the finish.

dont have them move to seattle....we seem to be the only ones you can time our length of summer with an egg timer

doubt its water spots, if you dry the car properly
clay bar wont do anything for water spots.

If you park your car in the hot sun after a rain, you'll get water spots. I've tried many things on them on my old cars, but they always seem to stay. They are a pain to get off.

The clay bar and Klasse polish took off water spots for me. I use Rejex to keep them off and it works.

Our new car was parked where the sprinkler got it wet in the hot sun down in MS and I could not get the spots out. I took it back to the dealer because the paint was covered and they got them out. I don't know how but they did and I could not. I didn't take a wheel to it but all the hand stuff I tried did not work..

Someone waxed over the water spots. Let the wax wear and then the water spots will go too.
There is no such thing as a water spot on paint that won't wash off, unless it is sealed under a protective finish.

I could never get my water spots to "wash right off", and I tried and tried.

spots

Hey guys I'm actually his co worker and to be honest i have made sure i have taken off the wax on the car and when i wash the car when i finish and the whole car is dried off i see round spots left on the car there are just a few all over the car on different panels.

However, they look like etched in water spots. so i took his advice and used hot water with a distilled white vinegar and a soft cloth and nothing changed.. i have tried polish Lucas car cleaner clay bar because some one else said it would work I.E. FATHER...

any other ideas i know when i got the car back i don't think the clear had finished drying is my theory. and i have sprinklers if its in the clear wet sanding would work right? though it would harm the clear...
