Norway terrorist attack

My deepest sympathies to the victims, their families and the whole Norwegian people.

At least 80 killed in Norway terror attacks - The West Australian

One of the few times we hear something about Norway and it's this!

The horror of one man's actions.

My condolences to the victims and their families.

I am lost for words and shocked. I never expected something like this to happen in Norway :(

I have spent most of the night trying to make sure close friends, their family and my family in Oslo are not dead or hurt.

As I have already said in another discussion here on PP, there is not much that has made me cry as an adult man - but I am finding it hard to keep back the tears...

Oh Haha 07-23-2011 05:48 AM

Prayers sent to Norway.

There are crazy people everywhere

Domestic terrorism has no boundaries - it's the Oklahoma City bombing but even more horrible.

No death penalty in Norway. And max 21 years prison sentence.

Joe Bob 07-23-2011 07:49 AM

Hopefully he'll get a Dahmer once behind bars.....unless they do him in the lockup awaiting trial.

billybek 07-23-2011 08:02 AM

Sad. What a waste.
I hope that his stay in prison is not comfortable.
My condolences to the Norwegian people.

And college degree programs, internet, masseuses, flat-screen TV's, organic food and weekend furloughs.

He'll be a better person when he gets out.

I feel for those people greatly. I was young when the OKC bombings happened, but I remember seeing the aftermath on TV, and still hear the stories of how it changed the lives of many in OK.

But at least we got to fry Mcveigh.....

azasadny 07-23-2011 11:31 AM

Very, very sad...

This had nothing to do with religion. There is absolutely nothing in the bible or Christian faith that would direct someone to kill like that.
You'd have to read the koran to find that type of violet encouragement (and yes, I've read them both. Bet you haven't).
It had everything to do with a violent murdering wacko who wanted to kill people.
Yet you had to twist it to support your personal opinion.
Shame on you. Gain some knowledge of what you're talking about and then pop off.

As there are more and more people on this planet of ours, the percentage of nutjobs seemingly increases... Maybe the crazy genes no longer get weeded out as i was in the old days, maybe it's the overcrowding itself that causes it.. I dunno, but there's plenty of nutjobs this day and age.

Simply not true Sammy- One does not see what they do not want to see

But this isn't a debate about religion.

A horrible thing has occurred in Norway and our hearts go out to those lives that are lost or affected by this subhuman act.

We grieve with you Norway

Hate is a strong psychological state that bends reality and judgment which is only fueled by the current trend of the "Us against them complex" which seemingly thrives just about everywhere these days. It is a shock however that such an extreme and horrible act occurred in what is for the most part one of the more civilized societies that can be found. Proof that no society is immune to the disease of hate an misinformation.

I hope justice and punishment can be brought to the attacker that is satisfactory to the Norwegian people.

I am Rich Harpers domestic bassist. He has been on tour in Norway for a month now. He was in Oslo this week and playing a festival on some island over there. Communications is sketchy at best right now, but nobody has heard from him as yet. We are all hoping he is OK. Wishing he would surface soon.

targa911S 07-23-2011 02:39 PM

OK ...I looked at his schedule and it seems he was not in the immediate area during this event. Whew! Maybe we will hear from him soon. I'm sure this will sadden him as he loves the people in Norway and they love him back.

targa911S 07-23-2011 04:50 PM

Just heard from Rich..

"yeah. we're ok. thanks for asking. we got to the gig last night & saw the news. of course the crowd was sparse. anyways, we got up early to catch a flight up north here expecting security to be bad. it wasn't so we hung at the airport for over an hour. then it took 2 hours to fly here, get on a bus for 20 minutes, ferry for 20 mins, then another bus for 1 1/12 hours, then check into the rooms, sound check, eat, nap, play, finally back at the room to check e-mail. all in a days work"

HardDrive 07-24-2011 12:01 AM

This type of evil destroys me. Wish I had a thicker skin. I don't. Why? Just, Why?

Because you're sane there is no "Why" that you would understand.

So we grieve and try and move on. Like "9/11"... How many people are still trying to deal with what happened that day?
