I was really surprised by it as well. Must admit, I doubt my groups would anywhere be as good as yours (shooter's fault, not the rifle) but the first dog I got was a head shot at just a little over 100 yrds with 15mph crosswinds. I must have been lucky.

It's a Sako model A1 with a nikon monach scope 6.5-20 power. It shoots WAY better than me.

We are all so humble about our skills. That one nice rifle. Great checkering pattern. Excellent set up.

Thanks, I like it. When I first got it I sighted in the scope then headed into some mountains to try it out on a rabbit and came back with a deer. Just luck as I had never seen a deer in the wilds before that :) 100 yard shot with a softpoint bullet.

targa & Bill, those are really nice. Mine is a little more plain but I hope to have a really good looking one soon.
targa, my shooting skills really is not that good. Later in the day on the prairie dog hunt I broke out the Rem 700 (308) to try and get a few on a mound about 350yrds from me. There were 4 of them sitting on the mound and I shot to the left of them, to the right of them, over them, in front of them and in between them (about 10-15 shots) and did not hit one. |
