Ruger Single-

I'm pleased. About 6 years ago, my Ruger Single-Six was lost in the move. Tonight I found it again, in a box we never unpacked. This was my dad's, so I am happy to have it. Did a lot of target shooting with this, when I was but a lad.

Pictures please... (Which thread should we be looking at?)

Way cool. Always fun to find something that was thought lost forever. I'm still waiting to find a ring..

Ruger single actions are great. I have a Super Blackhawk that I have had for about 30 years.
I would pick that thing up first before any of the others we have.

Crappy pic, sorry. I think I started shooting this around 10 y/o.

I now have a hankering to get it's big brother. A stainless Blackhawk in .357 Mag or .45 LC or something like that.

I have a Sturm & Ruger P94 in .40 S&W and I love it.

It takes 14 shells, yet packs nearly the same wallop as a .357 magnum or a .44. If you are going to get into a gunfight, this gun is going to win; .40 S&W has been proven to stop even the most crazed heavy meth addict in his tracks. A 9mm WONT! Yet, it has a huge magazine, which means that you can fire and fire and fire. The US Secret Service and the FBI use this shell these days for this reason.

The Ruger P94 is a "big frame" gun; I use it for home defense, not for concealed carry. The huge ugly gun is a good idea because the simple sight of it is enough to cause most perps to defecate in their pants. I have pulled this gun one time in anger on a person buglarizing one of my real estate investment properties; The simple sight of this large handgun was MOST EFFECTIVE in coercing the individual in question to sit down and wait for the Broward sheriff to arrive.

Anti-gunners always ask me "Why do you think a gun will help you?".......

-I received my stolen property back, and the individual in question was prosecuted. And nobody got hurt. Hello?

The only problem with that gun? Dammit, after about 20 shots at the range, my arm starts to ache! It kicks-

Wrong thread?

jyl 07-24-2011 06:16 PM

I meant, were you intending to post on Jared's thread?

In another pistol case, I found the manual and paperwork for my Glock G19 too, bought about 15 years ago.

Amazing what you turn up when cleaning the basement.

Let's hope I find the Belgian pre-ban FN-FAL that I don't remember having, or something like that.

Looks like a convertible - what calibers?

My Ruger single action is .357 and 9mm. I love it - I can shoot .357 or switch to 9mm if I'm shooting my XD9.

22LR and 22WMR

I like your 9mm and 357 - going to look for one.
