question for Jag owners

I need to replace the radiator in my 2000 XK8. Does it just come out vertically, and do I need to discharge the AC? thanks.

I am not 100% positve, but it may come out from the bottom requiring removing the crossmember, and moving a couple of lines out of the way. Real pia without a lift. I just did one on an x type of about the same vintage.
Good luck.

Nope, comes out from up top, says you will have to evac the ac system. Sounds fun. I have a love hate relationship with jag.

I just did the radiator on my 2001 Volvo XC70. Came out the bottom. real PIA, but I did not need to discharge the AC.

There must be a way to do it w/o discharging the AC.

maybe break the arm of the designer?

I have posted over there for a few years but I can not find anything on replacing the radiator.

Sorry you didn't find the answer over there. I'd PM one of the certified techs and/or one of the mods. They seem helpful to me.

If it helps you out, I can send you what info I have from my shop key program

Well. I took a good look. The JTIS does say to remove everything as a unit. But I have removed the fan unit by itself before. The condenser is attached by two bolts on the front of the radiator instead of thru bolts from the rear like most cars. And they are about 8mm x 15mm short bolts way up high in an awkward place. So it is easier to disconnect some ac lines rather than cut your fingers getting to the bolts. But I think I can do it.

I can use any info you can send, thanks.

I'll be doing this in two weeks as I will be on travel shortly. I'll post back when I get it figured out and do it.

Someone mentioned removing the nose of the car. Another said he's never removed a hood for any reason. I don't know if the two are related.

Just a little tedious, but the radiator just lifts out once you get all the connections clear.
