Tile Grout Repair Suggestions
Gang - I noticed in in my shower that the grout on the floor between some of the tiles are coming off in chunks, leaving a gap between the tiles. While I could caulk these gaps, I would like to know if there is a grout repair putty etc that any of you could recommend.
Many thanks! Yasin

Yasin, I would clean out the grout (as much as possible) from the affected area and regrout these tiles. There is a specific tool for that. You should be able to find this tool, the right color of grout, and a float to apply it at your hardware / home improvement store.

While I have never done this, I believe that a dremel will make quick work of grout. You probably want to talk to Trekkor here on the board. He seems to work magic with tile.

remove grout, clean and maybe use bleach, rinse, let dry and re-grout.

Definitely get matching grout. Use the modified admix. After is is dry, not just hard, seal it with grout sealer.

I had the same thing happen and the guy who regrouted it said it was because the old grout had sand in it and the stuff he used did not have sand in it.
