Another murder-by-cop(s)

Kelly Thomas: Police beat and taser 'gentle' mentally-ill homeless man to death | Mail Online

after seeing that picture, could not watch the video

The should rot in prison for as long as they survive in the general population.

Just waiting now for silverwhaletail to come up to tell us how dangerous these homeless mental street people are and that the cops have every right to gang up on one like this so as to reduce their presents on the street for the good of all of us. And that its SOP to tase them unconscious then beat them to death so there is less risk to the cops involved.

How can anyone in a uniform sworn to protect and serve, act in this way?
When will the people who they work for stand and say enough?

I have trouble imagining a scenario where 6 police beating and tasering a homeless man to death is justifiable. 2 trained officers should have had little trouble getting him on the ground a cuffing him.

Horrific....the murdered man's father is ironically a former Sheriff's Deputy, so I hope he takes down these cops. The police brutality thing is getting ridiculously out of hand, who exactly are the Police Department's hiring these days..sickening..

So this is your professional opinion based on what? I've seen 5 or 6 officers having trouble subduing a subject that does not want to be cuffed. It is not uncommon. BTW tasers have been tested over and over far beyond tasing a human or animal 5 times. IIRC in the initial testing they hooked the electrodes to a pig's heart and ran it for 30 minutes and the pig lived.

Yea! well this guy didn't! Look we all know that cops are very needed to hold things together in the modern world. Its just the growing concern that some are not keeping in mind the ethos to serve and protect. Who knows maybe that some of us here would loose sight of those goals after doing that challenging job for a while . Its a scary thing when those that have the power of law behind them and the guns on their hips. seem at times to loose that focus.

Irony is ironic.

I'm sure it can happen under the right scenario, but this homeless guy? Anyway, lets say it did take 6 trained officers to pin him. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have cuffed him and kept him on the ground without the extensive beating and a "5th tasering"

"Eye witnesses say the homeless man -Kelly Thomas, 37 - was unable to put up any resistance and was lying on the ground on his front when the attack took place"

'They kept beating him and tasering him. I could hear zapping, and he wasn't even moving."

Listen to the rest of the quotes from the witnesses. "I don't know why they don't cuff him instead of beating him"

Why not? What scenario makes a beating this severe ok? What makes you think this was such a scenario?

Base on people's comments in the video at the scene, he didn't resist and cops were on top of him. Cops were beating him up and screaming "stop resisting"... and now he's DEAD.

I found this is funny "...they did say that six officers were involved and two 'suffered broken bones in the fight'.
However, they recently retracted that statement saying that it was only 'soft tissue damage'."

And this...
"Mark Turgeon, who was there, said: 'They kept beating him and tasering him. I could hear zapping, and he wasn't even moving.
'He had one arm in front of him like this, he wasn't resisting. And they kept telling him, "He's resisting, quit resisting", and he wasn't resisting.'"

I am not saying that all cops are bad. There are many good cops out there, and there are bad one too. These particular cops sound like bad gangsters with badges.

I wasn't there and I won't base my opinion on a video clip. Rodney King was "gentle", too (according to his friends).
