Animals bigtime distressed by heat and drought...

Last night in the garage, a raccoon ripped out the window screen, squeezed under a 3" opening in the window, pigged out on cat food, messed up the water dish then turned it over and apparently squeezed back out the window.

Have seen several possums and a red fox drinking out of the rock fountain in the front yard.
Haven't seen them but coyotes are barking/yelping all night long.

Just down the road a feral hog ruined somebodys night. A BIG dead hog and a lot of white bumper/air dam plastiac andheadlight glass were along side the road.

and no end in sight...

One should put the poor critters out of their misery with a humane lead injection.

Seriously, may a gentle "tropical storm"...no hurricane please...give Texas some much needed rain.

we've had 6 days WITHOUT rain in over a month. the most was 3 days in a row, and that was this week. at least 12" of rain in July, probably more. I'm about ready to find a new job.

I just learned it was actually over 30"of rain in July
