Need help from the Brain Trust.

I dug out some of my OLD car audio gear, and ran into a problem. My Phoenix Gold ZX600ti emits a constant tone at about 1khz for a few minutes, then goes away. It seems like it's about the time a dying capacitor takes to charge up. This amp has been in storage for about 5 years, and hasn't gotten wet.

I wanted a few opinions, before I send it in for repair. They want a flat rate of $127 for repair, but if it's just a cap, I can replace that myself, much cheaper, but I haven't open it up yet to see if there are any obvious signs. So, what say the Brain Trust?

Your prolly right about the capacitor but if it only lasts a few minutes then goes away I don't know if its that big of a deal. Sounds like my Wife but the problem is the constant irritating buzz in my ear doesn;t stop after a few minutes!

As an update, this tone was constant, even without any inputs hooked up. Last night I went to pull the fuse, and noticed an arc INSIDE the fuse. the fuse is an 80A AGC. Replaced it with another one, and all is well, for now. But the fuse checks good with an ohm meter. Weird, huh?
