I know the feeling....

When I worked on the Williamsburg Br. a bunch of us used to get up top early to watch the sun come up and and have some coffee..

This is me way back at the beginning of my quasi illustrious career I am on the Manhattan Br, Brooklyn Bridge in the back ground, and something in the background that is not there anymore....

I'm fairly courageous (or foolhardy, depending on your perspective), but I DO NOT like heights. Not a bit. The Ferris Wheel scares me. But airplane rides do not. Anyway, I would have been petrified.

A friend of mine operated one of the 500' high tower cranes during the recent Tacoma Narrows Bridge project. Right where Galloping Gertie once stood. In the breeze. No, thanks.

Been across that bridge many times but never saw it from that angle. Were you replacing the lights?

So with a hand on each rail in a death grip, how the heck did you take a picture?

Did you take the picture holding the camera with two hands? That is a good day at work?

Two hands on the camera. I'm very tied off, very safe. I took a summer intern up to make his weeks of menial labor worth it. We went up with a team of bridge engineers.

wow. tim.

i just realized, you are wearing a safety belt! those things are "back in the day". not legal anymore.

i admit, i had bad dreams last night. i had to sleep on the couch, to let my wife sleep..and the couch is lower to the ground. my foot could touch the floor.
