So what's going to happen to the British rioters they catch?

Looks like they're going to try to catch these guys after the fact.

I guess they weren't real deterred by the cameras or passive police presence. What will happen to the ones they catch?

scottbombedout 08-10-2011 11:45 AM

Hard to say what will happen. What should happen is minimum 5 years in jail with no BS time off for good behaviour. If immigrants are involved they should be deported to country of origin, no more human rights BS either.

Rick Lee 08-10-2011 11:47 AM

That's good. I'd also make their food dependent on work details physically repairing the damage they've done.

scottbombedout 08-10-2011 11:51 AM

We kind of have that and it is called restorative justice. It is just more BS Rick.

Rick Lee 08-10-2011 11:54 AM

Yes, there rarely is justice for anyone, despite how the laws are written. I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I see one of Sheriff Joe's chain gangs working on the side of the road. And it's miserable hot here for four mos. of the year.

I cant deny it. Your justice system in the US is far harder and better on the crims. I wish we had it here.

Every saturday when I take my wife to work we pass the probation office where the bad lads (as my little boy calls them) are getting ready to do their community service. It is a joke to them, complete total and utter BS. Chain gangs in orange boiler suits is far more to my liking.

Chain gangs doing hard labor need a come back. I use to see them growing up in the south, as we visited relatives.

It didn't look like a lot of fun and rightly so.

Picking crops would be useful. Hard to do chained together (crop damage) but would be hard to run with 30 lb chained on a leg. Hire the labor out to farmers. Would replace some migrant labor. And introduce more Anericans to the delights of vegetables!

Last time I saw one of Sheriff Joe's chain gangs, the truck that was watching over them had a port-o-potty in the back of it so they didn't relieve themselves in front of passing cars.
