Any PPOT folks in Basra?
Hate it, tolerate it or enjoy it?

Do you have any specific questions? Have you ever deployed before? Iraq is generally a $hithole by western standards, but that doesn't mean that some people don't enjoy their deployments there. Generally, I would say that it is amazing what you can get used to. Most people I know hate their first few weeks when deployed, but then they forget what the real world is like and many people come to like it, at least for a while.

I was there (near Basra) way, way back in 1991, but it wasn't a good time to be there, if you know what I mean.
