New Social Security online sign in?
Has anyone else been contacted by SS via email and instructed to open a new Login.gov account to replace our current SS login?I just want to make sure it's not a scam.

Yes. Legit. I entered a different way because I too had doubts. Got the email about a week ago.

It's legit. I'm a recently retired DoD (AF) Civilian and was using login.gov even before retirement.
To clarify: It's legit that the SSA wants you to get a login.gov account. I can't say whether the email you received is legit. Go directly to ssa.gov vs. clicking on any embedded links.
