Trying to sell my CJ3A!

Is anyone interested?

I have a 1950 Willys CJ3A with an 80's Chevy Camaro 350 V8 and TH350 automatic transmission. It runs well!

Good:
New Steel Body
Dual Exhaust
Optima Battery
Power Brakes
Upgraded 11" Drums
Warn Overdrive
Sylvania Halogen Lights
LED Tails and Turn Signals
Winch
Jerry Can Holder
Rear Gate
Power Steering
New Interior
New Bestop
Fresh Fluids
CB Antenna and Power Source
Bikini Top (Seen Better Days)
Long Travel Leaf Springs
Mag Wheels
33" Tires
Side Steps
Roll Bar
Good Paint
Floor and Cargo Mats
Clean Title
Good Registration

Bad:
Crack in rear right muffler makes a sound when letting off gas. It's smog exempt. Fix at your own convenience.
Spare not full size.
Right mirror has some water inside of it and will need to be replaced. The round style mirrors are cheap for a set and will slide right into the holders.
There are a few small screw holes under the new top where the old style Bestop was installed. On the new one they moved the snaps. The benefit is that the new top will fold down like a convertible.

Asking for $4,900 OBO. Located in Sacramento, CA. SmileWavy

Pics, pardon the dirt:

Free bump for a real 4WD vehicle. If only you were closer. :(

If that was sitting across the street with a for sale sign. I don't think I could resist....

What axles do you have under it and have the shafts been updated to cro-mo?

Mr.Puff 08-14-2011 09:42 PM

The rear axle is a 41 and the front is a 25. Since those are the stock sizes for an early '50 CJ3A I doubt they have been updated to chromoly.

Thanks for the support guys. People up here aren't jumping on this for some reason. I guess everyone is out of the mmoneeeeyyyyy.

A rust free cj3 is a rare bird in the northeast. Nice looking rig. Pretty tempting...

Zeke 08-15-2011 05:46 AM

Since I have a '44 I can tell you there's $5000 worth of equipment there, nevermind the Jeep itself.

Mr.Puff 08-16-2011 12:08 AM

Thanks Milt. It has been on Craigslist for months. I guess I need to fix the windshield wipers and exhaust to get serious bites.

look 171 08-16-2011 01:09 AM

I don't think that will do the trick. People who buy these vehicles don't really care if the wipers works or not. Its an easy fix and they often over look it. My neighbor's been trying to sell his little 4 banger CJ5 or Willy, a 59 I think, for a years now. He's only asking for $2000. His wife wants the space back. He hinted the other day for lower then 1500 bucks. Only If I can store it at his place and I was temped at one time, but decided not to because I just have no room. My wife and the rest of my family would shoot me. I buy yours over his any day of the week. His has no rust and is really clean, but I just like the good old v8 and the T-350 tranny.

The over drive will get thing over 65mph on the highway?

Mr.Puff 08-16-2011 01:17 AM

Yikes, these vehicles are worth way more than that. I guess people are starting to forget about them :(.

It isn't that people have no money to spend, but they are just not certain of the economy and are holding onto their money. We have lost a few projects due to that kind of thinking. The stock market takes a dump, people want to wait a week to sign contracts.

People haven't forgotten about them. Hang on to it, the market will come back just like everything else. I know its easier said then done.

That's a nice toy, are you tired of it? It doesn't seem to have seen too much dirt. that thing is so clean.

I know what you mean about the economy (I am an economist). This part of California took a c**p big time. An average Willys can't sell for less than low retail value. Sad .

I'm going to sit on the vehicle and fix the few problems it has. I just have to find somewhere to park it at the new apartment come August 20th .

Haha :D, last time it was raining hard I pulled out some old t-shirts and cleaned the thing. They turned black and I had to throw them away...

Rednine11 08-17-2011 03:56 AM

That is a steal at that price. I would jump on that in a second if it were closer to home. VERY nice jeep.

svandamme 08-17-2011 06:58 AM

I'de buy it right here and now , cash in hand if it weren't for the Atlantic distance.
